Right of reply

Every service named on this site can publish a response beside its figures, in its own words.

How it works

  • Use your work email. It must be on the organisation's own domain, such as nhs.net, gov.uk or police.uk. That is how readers know the reply is genuine.
  • Say what you want. Explain the figures, give context, correct something, or say what you are doing about it. Up to 2,000 characters.
  • We publish it as written. We do not edit replies. We only check that a reply names no patient, caller or member of the public, and contains no web links.
  • It appears beside your figures, with your organisation's name, your role and the date. We publish your role, never your name.
  • You can update or withdraw it by sending a new reply or by emailing hello@howlongdidyouwait.co.uk.

We can't discuss or respond to individual cases, and nothing here passes information about anyone to you.

Published with the reply. Your name is not.

Plain text, up to 2,000 characters. Published exactly as written.

On the organisation's own domain. Used only to confirm the reply, then deleted. We keep the domain, such as nhs.net.
