Where to take your prescription: which pharmacies are open when you need them, and where people say it was ready when they went.
0 pharmacies ready first time.
Not enough logged yet
A pharmacy appears here once 10 people have logged a prescription there and said whether it was ready when they went. Log yours, good or bad.
Opening hours are from the NHS Business Services Authority pharmacy list (April to June 2026). Hours change, especially on bank holidays, so check with the pharmacy before you set off. Some pharmacies only deliver by post and are not open to callers. "Ready first time" comes from people logging prescriptions here, once 10 have done so in the last 180 days. It is not an official figure.
How long did your prescription take?
From asking for it to having your medicine. It tells the next person where to go, and you get a dated record and a letter already written if it went wrong.
Know where you stand
- Allow 5 working days. The NHS asks you to allow 5 working days from asking for a repeat prescription to having your medicine. It is guidance, not a legal limit. Your surgery may say how long it needs. NHS: emergency prescriptions
- A complaint answered properly. Surgeries and pharmacies must acknowledge a complaint about NHS services within 3 working days and investigate it properly. Handbook to the NHS Constitution
- Run out completely? Use 111. If you cannot wait for your prescription and have run out, NHS 111 online has an emergency prescription service, or call 111. You may be sent to a pharmacy for an urgent supply. NHS: emergency prescriptions
- Ask a pharmacist for an emergency supply. Pharmacies can give some medicines in an emergency without a prescription. You may have to pay, and some medicines are excluded. NHS: emergency prescriptions
