Today, from people waiting

Open 24 hours

Nobody has timed a wait here today yet.

From people timing their own wait on this site, not from the NHS. This timer is not monitored and does not alert staff. A place with nobody timing may still be busy. Waits change quickly, and people are seen in order of need, not arrival. Opening hours can change. Check with NHS 111 before you set off. All urgent care today.

Official NHS figures

September 2026

51%
dealt with within 4 hours at the trust's main A&E departments
NHS standard: 95%▼ Worse than England
10,716
people attended the trust's main A&E departments
757
waited over 12 hours for a bed after the decision to admit

Is this what you found? I'm in A&E now. Time my wait.

Across England, 61% of patients at main A&E departments were dealt with within 4 hours that month.

Counting the trust's other urgent care departments as well, 69% of 17,430 patients were dealt with within 4 hours (England: 74%). This wider figure is the national headline measure.

These official figures are for the whole trust, which runs A&E at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital and Scunthorpe General Hospital. NHS England does not publish them for each hospital.

"Dealt with" means admitted to a ward, transferred or sent home. The main A&E figure covers the trust's type 1 emergency departments. The 12-hour figure starts at the decision to admit, not at arrival; a further 449 waited between 4 and 12 hours for a bed.

What isn't published

There are no monthly published figures for how long patients here wait for the first assessment or to be seen. That is what the timer records.

Your rights

Know where you stand

  • Standards, not rights. The four-hour A&E standard and the ambulance response times are targets the NHS sets itself. Missing one does not give you a legal claim.
  • Use Martha's Rule if someone is getting worse. If a patient in hospital is deteriorating and you feel you are not being listened to, you can ask for a rapid review by a different team, at hospitals that have introduced Martha's Rule. Ask the staff how to call for it. NHS England: Martha's Rule
  • Complain about your care or your wait. To the hospital or the ambulance service, within 12 months. PALS at the hospital can help first. NHS England: how to complain

All your rights, and how to complain

Kept fair

  • Times only. We never ask why you are there, what is wrong or who treated you.
  • The sickest go first. Patients are treated in order of need, not arrival, so a long wait for a minor problem can be the system working.
  • Good and bad. A quick visit counts exactly as much as a slow one.
  • Nothing goes to the hospital. Timing your visit does not tell staff anything or change your place in the queue.
